Programme

Just a “Little Pinch”:
A Rage Writing Workshop on Illness, Ableism, and Bodily Autonomy

“If ever there was a time not to silence yourself, to channel your anger into healthy places and choices, this is it.”
(Soraya Chemaly)

Workshop Host: Allia Sadeghipour (aka The Golden Dick)/14:00 - 15:00

Years of misdiagnosis, dismissal, gaslighting, side effects being brushed off, symptoms being ignored, the body remembers and the rage simmers. It builds with every “you look fine,” every condescending shrug, every unanswered question about your own body, every undiagnosed autoimmune disease, every “little pinch.”

In a world where pain is pathologized, especially for women*, queer, and marginalized bodies, where ableism defines access and medical systems fail to listen, where male birth control is still “too risky,” and we’re told to sacrifice our well-being “for the greater good”—our rage is valid. Our stories are vital. And our bodies remember.

In this workshop for writers and non-writers alike, we’ll alchemize that rage into art. Through blackout poetry, journaling, body billboards, and guided writing prompts, you’ll name the pain, the systems, the silence—and begin to rewrite your narrative. Come exactly as you are. Bring the storm. We’ll help you write it out.

Who is the workshop for?
The workshop is for anyone looking to tap into their rage and release it in an empowering written art form. Workshop will be in English with translations available upon request. B1/B2 level English comprehension is recommended. We also speak multiple languages.

What will I need?
* Just your rage ;)
* Writing material will be provided!

Rage at the Root:
Decolonizing Our Anger for Collective Liberation

Workshop Host: Ankamaru/14:00 - 15:00

How we got here:
Long before colonization, Indigenous societies across the Americas practiced profound equity; where queer, trans, and gender-diverse people held positions of leadership, wisdom, and community-making. Their existence was not merely tolerated but seen as an essential part of building a community. Colonization violently uprooted these systems, replacing them with structures of oppression designed to divide, shame, and dominate us.

Today, many of us feel a deep, burning anger at injustices, but too often, that rage is misdirected at one another, rather than at the systems that continue to harm us all. This workshop invites participants to understand the historical roots of this polarization and offers tools to harness collective anger as a catalyst for transformative systemic change.

The Goal:
Together, we will explore how to direct our rage toward the systems of oppression that harm us all, and imagine new ways to channel that energy into collective healing, creativity, and liberation.

Pretty Deadly:
Self-Defense Workshop

Workshop Host: Cendres from ZAZA EXPLORE/14:00-15:00 & 16:00 - 17:00

“Anger is loaded with information and energy.”
(Audre Lorde)

Women* spend 50% of our time strategizing how to stay safe. What if we had more time? Imagine if we could free up that time so we can contribute to the things that really matter: getting an education, developing careers, growing communities, following our dreams, building a better world.

Turn your rage into power with Pretty Deadly Self Defense. Pretty Deadly Self Defense was developed as an answer to traditional, scenario-based self defense, and approaches self defense based on maximizing existing, natural reactions and responses to reduce training muscle memory for something new. The course was developed based on behavior response, the biology of our innate self defense systems, and of course martial arts.

Even as women* martial artists, we find violence and physical conflict exhausting and dehumanizing. But we find learning and understanding how our bodies work through body dynamics, structure, balance and natural movement joyful and uplifting.

User-focused Self Defense
Based on natural movement, body dynamics and structure vs. strength, Pretty Deadly Self Defense incorporates modified techniques found across 11 schools of martial arts, from Ninjutsu to Krav Maga to Kung Fu and Tae Kwon Do. We start with the very basic structures and help you find what's right for your body, improving centering and structure to enhance balance and mobility.

All fitness levels - All rage levels! Max group 10 people! Get there early to sign-up!

Rage in Cinema:
The Good, the Bad and the Inaccurate Representation of Women*s Rage

Workshop Hosts: Sofio Rukhadze + Ekin Sarıyıldız/16:00 - 17:00

This interactive workshop invites participants to critically engage with the portrayal of women*’s rage in film. In small groups, attendees will be given selected movie snippets that depict moments of anger, emotion, and resistance.

Some groups will receive clips that portray women*’s rage in a raw, realistic, and empowering way. Their challenge will be to rewrite these scenes in a way that reflects the more stereotypical and inaccurate portrayals often seen in mainstream media—depictions that frame women* as overly emotional, irrational, or weak.

Meanwhile, other groups will be given scenes where women*s rage is portrayed in a flawed or exaggerated manner. These groups will be tasked with rewriting the scenes to reflect a more nuanced, authentic, and grounded expression of anger—highlighting complexity, strength, and justified emotion.

Through collaborative discussion and creative rewriting, participants will explore how media shapes perceptions of women*'s emotions and power, and how storytelling can be used as a tool for reclaiming and redefining rage.

The Mother Must Die:
Writing about Rage in a Publishing System that Silences

Featured Author + Workshop Host: Koraly Dimitriadis

Join Koraly Dimitriadis, Cypriot-Australian poet, writer, performer to explore her short story collection The Mother Must Die - a body of work that explores identity, divorce, sexuality, parenting, domestic violence, and the working-class migrant experience.

Koraly will open the session by sharing her personal and creative journey, including the challenges that led her to found her own publishing house. Together, we’ll examine how rage, especially when expressed by women* and marginalised voices, can be a radical force in literature.

Participants will be invited to engage with selected extracts from The Mother Must Die, and reflect on urgent questions: How do we write our truth in a world that would rather keep us quiet? How do we channel rage into art that refuses to be palatable? How can we, as feminist readers and consumers, challenge the systems that suppress voices through our purchasing choices?

This session will be supported by Sophie Pownall, Feminist Fiction Berlin Co-Founder.

Instructions on How to Be Furious

Interactive Inspiration Board

Shake off apathy and reconnect with your inner fire. This interactive board invites us to stop, reflect and reconnect with our rage, to then take deliberate steps toward embracing it in our daily life— rage is the vital force that drives change and breathes life back into us. Some things must be destroyed to make space for the new, and rage isn’t just about destruction; it’s about creation, transformation, and the energy we urgently need.

Drawing inspiration from the work of artists like Miranda July and Yoko Ono, Caroline Barrueco invites you to participate in an interactive instruction manual to awaken your inner fury and transform it into action.
